Happy 1st Birthday, Elijah and Jonah!
Can you believe it? We can’t!! It is past midnight in Ethiopia, already July 15th and that means it is Elijah and Jonah’s 1st birthday! We never thought they would still be in Ethiopia for their first birthday, but they are. So, we plan on having a celebration here and video taping it so we can someday show them that we celebrated their first birthday, even though they weren’t here with us. When they come home, we’ll probably have a welcome home/birthday celebration. For now, we plan on having a cake with their pictures on it and releasing some balloons (sending thoughts and birthday wishes to Ethiopia).
It will be a bittersweet day here- happy for their big day, but sad we don’t get to spend it with them and sad that we didn’t get to enjoy any of their first year of life together/have any memories from that time.
We love you Elijah and Jonah and hope to have you home sooner than later! HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY!

Brooke I am so happy these boys will be home with you soon. We still have not passed court. Very hard but our 4th date is in August. I can’t wait to hear more updates about these two.

So good to see you posting again! I cannot wait to see the one message saying your final social work visit is complete and that the courts are giving you a date! We continue to pray that you will all be together soon!
